Oh great, it sounds like I'm in the middle of a long corridor with half the band playing from either side, blocking the fucking exits as well. Similarly with old rock music of that ilk/era, that spate of producers hard panning the fuck out of certain instruments can absolutely piss off. Literally can't be doing with it at all, it's a mess, sorry lads. That whole record is so well written and there's so much I could be enjoying if it weren't for the fact that it sounds like absolute toss. More than that, though, I'm looking at you, Ogden's Nut Gone Flake by Small Faces. I'm looking at you, Lose My Breath by Destiny's Child, whose verse vocals sound like they were recorded in a fucking bathroom.

The insane thing is that, rather than fix the hole in the middle, he STILL left it all panned wonky - but just added a bit of electronic echo to the other side. Help and Rubber Soul were remixed by George Martin for CD in 1987 (on to Umatic video tape!) - and ballsed it right up with lashings of 80's digital echo (Dizzy Miss Lizzie the worst offender) The only place you can get the original stereo 1965 mixes of Rubber Soul and Help is as a bonus on the end of the respective CDs in the Mono Box

The originals would still exist for those who want them. Quote from: Satchmo Distel on August 01, 2018, 08:04:15 PM
